AT FEG, WE PLAY FOR THE ALSA FOUNDATION
Remember the Ice Bucket Challenge? Yes, that famous campaign that resonated with everyone, especially on social media, whereby celebrities such as Lionel Messi, Mark Zuckerberg and Bill Gates poured buckets of icy water over their heads.
The campaign set out to raise awareness of, support for, and research into an insidious disease, namely amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). ALS is a progressive neuromuscular disease that affects the motor nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. If these cells don't work or die, the brain can't control the muscles and their movements. Over time, muscles weaken and atrophy sets in. Unfortunately, to this day, no treatment has been found for ALS. Intensive research is therefore needed.
This is why we, Fortuna Entertainment Group, joined the game in 2020. As a general partner, we help to finance the Alsa Foundation. Its mission is to bring together patients, professionals and laypeople with an interest in ALS.
The Alsa Foundation met one of our basic criteria for deciding where to direct financial support, namely the possibility to cooperate closely with the selected entity on specific projects and overall development. Why? Because at FEG, we don't just want to watch the game, but actively play a role in helping to beat ALS as soon as possible.
Our financial contributions are mainly used to professionalize the Alsa Foundation and to increase awareness of ALS among experts, responsible organisations and the general public.
