Group Linux Monitoring Engineer

Summary

We are looking for a Group Linux Monitoring Engineer with passion or interest in monitoring.

Responsibilities

  • Be a key responsible person of monitoring and logging platform, used by the entire FEG across multiple countries
  • Implement, configure and manage new monitoring solutions to ensure end-to-end functionality for monitoring and alerting
  • Collaborate with Operations teams to ensure full monitoring of all existing infrastructure and ensure that monitoring is automatically enabled as part of new infrastructure
  • Ensure thorough and complete monitoring of all environments and layers – network, server, storage and applications
  • Provide a gap analysis of missing features and implement them across array of monitoring tools
  • Collaborate with Engineering where necessary to enhance monitoring of applications and setting alertDesign Monitoring Dashboard for KPIs and provide weekly, monthly and quarter uptime reports based on synthetic monitoring thresholds
  • Implement changes on responsible systems
  • Small infrastructure projects management

We Require

  • Knowledge of the IT Infrastructure Engineering area grounded with min. 2-year experience in a similar position,
  • 5+ years experience in Linux systems administration
  • 3+ years of experience in Production Operations
  • Experience or interest in Nagios, Zabbix or other comprehensive open source solution (Zabbix is a plus)
  • Experience with using Time Series Databases like TimescaleDB, Graphite and InfluxDB is a plus
  • Experience with Graphing tools like Graphite and Grafana, ability to quickly create useful dashboards for the engineering and operations teams
  • Experience with managing and using ELK/EFK for log aggregation and operational intelligence
  • Scripting knowledge (Python, Perl or similar; Bash; REST API)
  • Experience with ITIL processes, CMDB, ticketing systems
  • Experience with monitoring of OpenShift services is a plus
  • Proven experience of maintaining high availability standards on heavy traffic systems is a plus
  • Overview about infrastructure automation, deployment and configuration management (RH Satellite, Ansible, CloudForms, Rundeck)
  • RHEL and/or VMware certification is a plus
  • Knowledge (or at least overview) of OpenShift/Kubernetes/Docker is big plus
  • Knowledge of Storage (NAS/SAN/object), x86 server HW, Virtualization (VMware) principles and best practices is a plus
  • OpenSource and Linux oriented is must. Some experience with MS based world is plus
  • Fluent Czech or Slovak and English
